The official MCP memory server is a reference, not a vault

It can teach an AI to store a knowledge graph, but its maintainers explicitly warn that reference servers are not production-ready solutions.

The official Model Context Protocol repository includes a memory reference server based on a knowledge graph. It is useful for learning how tools can give a model persistent context.

The repository also states that its reference servers are educational examples rather than production-ready solutions. That warning should stay attached whenever someone recommends the memory server for emotionally important data.

A working demo is not yet a dependable companion archive. Security boundaries, backups, conflict handling and deletion all need to be designed around the person using it.
